CHALLENGE
I was approached by an independent author he help design their first poetry anthology: Simply on My Mind: A Book of Poetry and Prose. The client wanted a contemporary design that visually showed the feelings of the poems.
The poetry looks to confront the very essence of "What is love?"
SOLUTION
Inspired by Rupi Kaur having minimalist typography set alongside line drawings inspried by the theme of the poems. Led concept and production, developed typographic systems, collaborated with an illustrator, and prepared final files for both print and digital distribution. Artwork for the cover was pre-determined as a original painting of a lily that was complimented with simplistic hand drawn typography.
RESULTS
A finished design ready for print product and digital distribution. A 98 page where each layout flows with the emotions of the poems themselves, as well as cascading around the illustrations that compliment.
